Q:

NEED HELP!!! WILL GIVE BRAINLIEST FOR EXPLAINING ANSWERS.(a) What is the general trend of the graph?(b) What is the median of the data? Explain.(c) What is the mean of the data? Explain.(d) Would the mean or median be affected more with a data point of 20? Explain.Use the line plot above to answer all 4 questions. Label your responses (a), (b), (c), and (d). When asked to explain you must use at least one sentence explaining the work you did. Hint: In question (a) the general trends to choose from are bell-shaped, uniform, skewed right, and skewed left. Refer to page 316 in Math Reference Guide for help.PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS!

A:
The data is left skewed.  The median is 5.  The mean is 5.15.  The mean would be more affected by adding a data point at 20.

Looking at the "tail" of the data, since it is longer at the left, the data is left skewed.

To find the median, you can write the data in order from least to greatest:
2, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6, 6, 7, 7, 7

The middle value is 5.

To find the mean, find the sum of the data and divide by the number of data points (13):

2+3+4+4+5+5+5+6+6+6+7+7+7 = 67; 67/5 = 5.15.

Adding a data point of 20, the sum changes to 87; divide this by 14, and the mean changes to 6.2.  This is a change of 1.05.  The median, however, only shifts to 5.5, which is a change of 0.5.
